A description of our electrical design

Circuit Diagram

Our electrical design was quite simple and didn’t require any analysis during its construction. At its core is an Arduino Uno R3, with an Adafruit Motorshield V2.3 attached. The Motorshield is connected to an external 12 V power supply and drives our X and Y stepper motors. The pins of the Arduino are used to collect readings from our X and Y limit switches during homing, and they also drive our servo. The servo controls our pen switching mechanism.

The Physical System

This whole system was mounted to the bottom of our gantry, and used a breadboard to make connections cleaner as seen below.
